Who we are
SurplusTrace is operated by [Legal business name], [business address]. You can reach us at [contact email].
Surplus funds recovery services
A free check does not create any obligation. We only work on a claim for you after you sign a separate written agreement that sets out our fee.
You may file a claim for surplus funds yourself, without paying anyone, by contacting the clerk or county office that held the sale. We cannot guarantee that funds exist or that any claim will be approved.
Paying a recovery fee
When we send you a payment link, the amount is the fee in your signed agreement. Payments are processed by Stripe. If a payment is made in error, contact us and we will work with you to correct it.
Lead lists and subscriptions
Lead lists are compiled from public records and are provided as they are. Records can change after a list is prepared, so verify every lead with the county or court before you act on it.
A single list purchase gives you a download link that works for a limited time. A subscription renews every month at the price shown when you subscribed until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing page, and access continues until the end of the period you paid for.
You may use lead lists for your own recovery work. You may not resell, republish or share them. You are responsible for following every law that applies to contacting owners, including state rules on recovery agents, solicitation and fees.
Refunds: [describe your refund policy for lead lists and subscriptions].
Disclaimers and limits of liability
SurplusTrace is not a government agency, is not affiliated with any county or court, and does not give legal advice. The website and lead lists are provided without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [state or country], without regard to its conflict of law rules.
