How we handle your information
Asking whether you are owed money should not cost you your privacy. Here is what happens to the details you share with SurplusTrace.

What we collect
When you request a free check, we collect what you type into the form: your name, email, phone number if you give it, the address of the property, the county, state, type and year of the sale, and your message.
We also keep simple visitor statistics, such as which pages are viewed. These statistics do not use cookies and do not identify you.
How we use it
We use your details only to research public sale records for the property, to contact you about what we find, and to help you file a claim if you choose to work with us.
Public records we review, such as court files and county surplus lists, may also contain your name and the sale details.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the court, county or other offices involved in a claim you have agreed to, and with service providers that help us run this website and send email.
Payments
When you pay our fee online, the payment is processed by Stripe. Your card or bank details go straight to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us. We keep the amount, the date and whether the payment went through.
If you buy a lead list or subscribe, Stripe processes the payment the same way. We keep your name, email, order and subscription details so we can deliver the lists, manage your subscription and help with your account.
Emails we send may record whether they were opened and which links were clicked, so we know a message arrived.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the information you gave us. Reply to any email from us, or send a new request through the form with your question in the message.
